Nous songeons à notre histoire, ancestrale, à notre famille, notre identité. Nous visualisons également un enchevêtrement de toiles, fils ou liens.
Rédigez une nouvelle brève, dense, rythmée. Votre histoire, réelle ou fictive, devra interpeller le lecteur et susciter son intérêt. Votre nouvelle sera jugée sur sa qualité littéraire et son originalité.

On 13 January 1912, a strange instant-petrification epidemic hit all of the animals at Toulouse Zoo. The unfortunate beasts were taken to the Museum, to the very famous laboratory of Professor Ebénézer Lafigasse. This wise man and veterinary surgeon – known all over the world for his work on viral immobility in primates – got to work immediately.
What he discovered that morning while he was examining Toto the chimpanzee left him completely speechless…
Basing yourself on this lead-in, write a story in French in the literary genre of your choice (detective novel, humorous, naturalist, etc).

Grow up? This is an idea with many meanings that everyone will consider, hear and explore in relation to their own experiences and sensibilities. Do we talk about the biological development of a child? The construction of his mental abilities? Of his identity? Context plays a role too: the child has received his parents’ genetic heritage, he is confronted with complex cultural, social and economic environments, which are often in the process of changing. He comes up against challenges which shape his personality. So how will he grow up, or fail to grow up?
Basing yourself on this lead-in, write an original short story in French, in the literary genre of your choice.

Imagine for example… A young falcon that has just this moment hatched finds itself in an unusual, unexpected environment, but which is not necessarily hostile to its development. Instead of being surrounded by the warm down of its mother, it is…elsewhere…
So how will it grow up? What will be its sources of education? What changes will it go through in relation to this new environment? What will it become?
Write a story presenting an original, fun or sensitive vision of the life of a young animal, torn away from its natural environment.

Put aside your representation of the bear and imagine what your life would be like if you were one. Whether that of a teddy bear, a wild bear, or a mythological bear, tamed or hunted, literally get inside the skin of a bear. Discover its cognitive and sensory abilities and give us an original vision of the life of a bear.

The rock from the sky
On 10 April 1812, at 8 pm, a meteorite crashed down near Toulouse, in the region of Savenès, Aucamville and Burgaud. The rocks collected were distributed to museums in Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna, Chicago, Budapest, Calcutta, Kazan, Cluj-Napoca... Two hundred years later, an unexpected incident disrupts the commemoration of this event… Create your story based on this pretext and around this mystery, in the literary genre of your choice…

The first prize was awarded to the short story “L'étoile de Chéops” by Christophe Cousin. The panel of judges particularly appreciated the successful treatment of the difficult exercise of crossing two stories in parallel in a short text, as well as its historic and documentary dimension.
The second prize was awarded to the short story “Le fragment réparateur” by Chantal Le Guillou, a very contemporary short story in a clear and well-written style.
“La planète croustillante” by Sauveur Padovano won the Special Prize for his highly original short story. You will appreciate this short story after a reading it a few times, as the beginning can be quite disconcerting!

A story that prehistory forgot
A short story competition focusing on the 2011 temporary exhibition “Prehistory, the investigation” (currently travelling around France and abroad).
Write the story of two young women killed 7,500 years ago. How and why did they die? Use your imagination to follow in the footsteps of this couple.
The objective: write a short fiction story in French relating the life of two human beings buried in the sepulchre in Téviec, displayed at the Museum of Toulouse.
